Find it in Sandwell

Find It In Sandwell’s Breakfast Club got the Funf Media treatment. The monthly at Sandwell’s Council Chambers regularly get around 100 attendees from local businesses.

Find It In Sandwell has been actively encouraging companies within the borough to do business with one another. July’s meeting was extra special as the main contractors from the Building Schools For The Future programme delivered presentations about the wealth of contract opportunities with them.

The BSF/E4L team also held one-to-one meetings with several Sandwell companies looking to help them deliver the projects.

Next stop, Find It In Sandwell’s September Breakfast Club where businesses can meet representatives from RegenCo.

WMCCE

If you’re a construction expert then check out the podcasts we produce for the West Midlands Centre for Constructing Excellence. WMCCE is a partnership project co-funded by AWM and the University of Wolverhampton to provide valuable support to the region’s construction industry.

Each month we gather a round-table of experts and business owners to discuss the pertinent issues affecting the industry.

You can download CONSTRUCTION TALK from ITunes or listen directly at the WMCCE website.

Channel 4

Funf Media has just finished a Skillset/Channel 4 funded initiative for new indies in the Midlands and North who want to move into the broadcast sector. Challenging but fun, the end result is that we now have four TV programme ideas in development, a mix of factual entertainment, children’s and drama.

Keep checking here for more details as when we can reveal them

Project 'H'

We can now reveal some more information about what we’re calling ‘Project H’. Since Autumn 2008, Marverine’s been developing her vision for a teenage drama set in Birmingham. We can't go into much more detail right now, except to say we think it’s ground-breaking and will move into new territory not previously covered before in this area.

It’s taking shape in the form of a short promo being shot at the end of this month using some of the hottest young acting talent in the region and drawing on a mix of up-and-coming musical artists, many of whom are new to TV and Film.

What’s even more exciting is we’ve been consulting with Birmingham Writer and Producer, Ian Kennedy, who’s agreed to help us work with any untrained actors we bring on board when the project gets off the ground, to help shape them as TV/Film performers.

Plus, in the coming months, we’ll be able to give you the name of the seasoned local writer - who’s agreed to write the pilot and subsequent two episodes of ‘Project H’. His career is extraordinary and prolific. It spans BBC TV & Radio drama, as well as film, theatre poetry and books. Just keep checking this page for updates!
